Our company (founded in 1997) provides consulting services and develops simulation and optimization tools for the rationalization of transport and logistic processes.
We employ top specialists with long-term experience in transport, computer simulation, information systems development, operation research, logistics, and computer graphics. The key workers of Simcon are tightly connected to the University of Žilina, this allows Simcon to integrate its practical experience with theoretical research done on European and world scientific professional level.
During more than 25 years of its history we have successfully completed many projects focused on simulation of transportation processes within logistics terminals (e.g. marshalling yards, factories, railway passenger stations, etc.) utilising in-house developed simulation tool Villon.
Villon is a feature rich software tool for creation of simulation models of transportation logistic terminals utilising cutting edge technology - agent based architecture, 3D visualisation to mention only a few. Villon supports complete life-cycle of the simulation study, starting with model creation (including infrastructure layout conversion from CAD files), through experiments with the model over to the results evaluations (user customizable with graphical output). Villon has been in development since 1994 (the development of the tool, formerly known as VirtuOS, started at the University of Žilina and was taken over by Simcon in 1997), and we are still working hard on various improvements and extensions to broaden its application areas and features.
